Facebook Privacy Tips

This list of tips came to my attention today -- it's not necessarily new, but it's good information for FaceBook users to have.

Basically, FaceBook has to walk a delicate balance between serving the people who pay the bills, and the people who use the service.  Those of us who use the service just want to interact with our friends.  The people who pay the bills want to be able to do custom targeted advertising, which requires a lot of invasive profiling. If Facebook invades privacy too much, the audience dries up.  If it offers no user insights at all, the money dries up.  So the terms and conditions get adjusted from time to time, and so do the user privacy controls.

The linked article gives a good list of tips to use the privacy controls to your best advantage -- short of canceling your account.
