Kim Komando on strong passwords

USA Today has an article from writer Kim Komando on building strong passwords.  Her technique is similar to the one I teach in the passwords workshop, and describe elsewhere on this site.  Which is better?  Neither!  The point is not to have the perfect hash, the point is to make long passwords that don't fit a predictable pattern.

My only criticism of the article is that she advocates for passwords that are too short.  For critical services like online banking, I recommend a minimum of 14 characters (and two-factor authentication where you can get it).  Twenty or more characters is good if you're using a password manager and don't have to remember the password yourself.

Hat tip to @DeldigiKNOW for the article find.
